Supporting Women Through Crisis and Towards Justice
Since 2001, Meera Sansthan has provided family counselling services through the Women's Police Station, Jodhpur. Since February 2011, the organisation has operated Women Protection & Counselling Centres under the Government of Rajasthan's Women Protection & Counseling Centre Grant Scheme, 2010.
Today, three centres are being operated at police stations, providing counselling, legal guidance, emotional support, crisis intervention and referrals to women experiencing violence, harassment, exploitation and family disputes. The centres have resolved 6,564 cases through counselling, mediation and amicable settlement, while supporting 1,282 women in filing FIRs under Section 498A IPC and other applicable provisions.
